Had my nails done at Kiyosa Japan Beauty Nail for their grand opening on October 3. I was invited together with my majesty, the one and only Sea Princess to be one of their “models” for their gel nail art.
I would have to say that I was initially a bit skeptical about nail gel. I mean, I do get weekly manicures and I haven’t seen anything that lasts more than a week with me. I’m a lot physical with my work so I kinds need my nail polish to last. I was very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience, I have to say!
First off, the place was absolutely beautiful! It was bright but not that bright that you feel like you’re in a sterile room. It was a soft bright ambiance – perfect for relaxing. The staff are absolutely amazing as well! Very helpful and so polite! They are very attentive without making you feel like they’re stalking (unlike some places I know) and are very helpful without being too pushy.
Then I met Yoshimi, my nail artist. She’s a very very cute Japanese girl who has studied the art of gel nails for 2 years before she actually practiced. Take note as well that all the nail artists and nail staff at Kiyosa are licensed and are trained before they are actually allowed to practice.
The whole process for my nail design took about 120 minutes. The results though are breath taking! I’ve never had my nails look this posh!! And they dry almost immediately!! The moment I stepped out of the salon, I was able to text and call and fiddle with stuff in my bag without fear of having to ruin my nails! I think I may have finally broken the “angking sumpa” of my manicures!
The real test however, came the next day when we had to move house and I had to subject my beautiful nails to extreme physical labor. It made me almost regret having it done just before we had to move but I didn’t have any other available time. The results? I looked like a truck ran over me and dragged me from Makati to Quezon City but my nails were still amazingly beautiful!! Thank you so much Kiyosa!!
